The 2016 Four-State Dairy Nutrition and Management Conference will be held on June 15-16, at the Grand River Center in Dubuque, Iowa. The conference will present the latest research focusing on fiber and nutrient digestibility and nutrition to improve dairy cattle reproduction.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, in partnership with the Iowa Beef Industry Council and Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, invite Northwest Iowa feedlot operators to take part in one of the upcoming Beef Feedlot Assessment Field Days. Each field day is scheudled to begin at 10:00 a.m. and will last 1 hour. Pre-registration is encouraged.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach – Cherokee County is offering a food safety training for food service managers on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the ISU Extension and Outreach office in Cherokee. The program is based on the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe™ certification program and the Iowa Food Code. The class is beneficial for a variety of foodservice managers, such as those from schools, restaurants, convenience stores, child care, senior meal sites, and health care.

AMES, Iowa – Spring’s arrival brings thoughts of green grass, flowering trees and – potatoes. Yes, potatoes. The starchy, tuberous crop is an integral, delicious part of many diets. In Iowa, optimal planting season is fast approaching. ISU Extension and Outreach horticulturists can help gardeners produce an ideal potato crop at home. Take Control of Your Money Online Course

If you are looking for ways to improve your finances, this FREE online course is for you!

"Take Control of Your Money" focuses on five key steps in managing money, with additional information on three special topics:

  • dealing with debt
  • building financial security
  • family communication about money

Those enrolled in the course will receive a weekly e-mail MoneyTip from ISU Extension and Outreach, and can opt to continue receiving the tips even after they are done with the course.
