A Cerro Gordo County Women, Land and Legacy Meeting was held on March 26, 5:30-8:00 pm, 4-H Learning Center, North Iowa Events Center, Mason City with 27 people attending. The program topic was "Spring Landscaping & Gardening for the Farm." Women, Land and Legacy discussion meetings offer presentations and discussion on topics that are a concern of women involved in farming. Everyone is invited to come. The bus is full! To have your name added to our waiting list, please call 641-423-0844. The Cerro Gordo County Extension 7th Annual Gardeners Bus Tour will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2015, 7:30 am-7 pm. Educational and fun stops include K & K Gardens in Hawkeye, Brucemore Mansion and the Czech district in Cedar Rapids, and a large family dairy farm southwest of Cedar Falls. The tour will involve moderate walking.

Mason City Community Gardens: Rent a plot and grow a garden! Two garden locations will be available offering two plot sizes: GARDEN ACRES – 900 block S. Kentucky and Willow Creek Garden - 1ST ST SW & MADISON AVE. Plot fees are required before the plot can be assigned. The fee will cover water and rough tillage costs.
