Summer Horticulture Showcase
Cerro Gordo, Floyd, and Bremer County Extensions would like to tell everyone about the Summer Horticulture Showcase that will be taking place on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at the Borlaug Learning Center (ISU Research Farm) west of Nashua. This will be one of the largest gardening events that takes place in north Iowa this year and is open to anyone that would like to learn more about landscaping, lawn care, gardening, etc. The Summer Horticulture Showcase has been planned by the Cerro Gordo, Floyd, and Bremer County Extensions. There will be speakers giving presentations on 12 different horticulture related topics throughout the day (10:00 am – 3:00 pm). Participants may choose four of the 12 programs by expert Horticulturists to attend. This is also a great opportunity to visit one of Iowa State Universities nicest research farms.
Some possible program topics include:
- Vegetable and small fruit gardening
- Polant insects and diseases
- Outdoor photography
- And much more!
The registration fee is $25 with lunch included ($30 at the door). A brochure with the registration form, itinerary, and directions will be coming out soon. Please call, email, or stop by the Cerro Gordo or Floyd County Extension offices, if you have any questions.
If you are an Iowa Master Gardener, you can receive up to 6 hours of continuing education.
