Serving Can Be Fun! 4-H Teen Council Donates to Toys for Tots

Cerro Gordo County 4-H Teen Council found out that serving the community can be a fun experience in itself. The 4-H Teen Council spent Wednesday evening purchasing Toys for Tots at Mills Fleet Farm in Mason City. The group raised money and was able to spend almost $350.00 and donate 3 large bags of toys to families in need for the holiday. The 4-H Teen council was careful to make sure they gathered a variety of toys for all ages and genders.

Our 4-H Teen Council is made up of roughly 10 members in 10th-12th grades from surrounding schools who work on various projects throughout the year. These projects can range  from promotion and leadership to community service and fundraising. This year our council has done a great job of serving others and providing leadership. Members had a great time selecting the toys to purchase knowing they would be contributing to a merry Christmas for many youngsters.
