Iowa Average Value of Iowa Farmland Tops $3,900 an Acre in 2007 Survey

AMES, Iowa -- The average value of an acre of farmland in Iowa increased by just over $700 during the past year, to an all-time high of $3,908, according to an annual survey conducted by Iowa State University (ISU) Extension. The land boom is being driven by the developing biofuel economy, according to Mike Duffy, ISU Extension farm economist who conducts the survey.

We are excited to announce the April 2008 program for “Taking the Road Less Traveled, A Career Conference for Girls” sponsored by Iowa State University’s Program for Women in Science and Engineering. The conferences aim to expose girls, sixth through twelfth grades, to career paths within science, technology, engineering and math. More than 2,500 individuals participate in the program each year.
