Jason Brown

ATLANTIC - KSOM Radio listeners got a sneak peak on Tuesday of a performer who will be at the Cass County Fair in July.

Country singer Jason Brown of Des Moines was in Atlantic on Tuesday to debut his new hit "We're All in the Same Boat" on KSOM. The song is from Brown's latest album, "Living Off the Land," which will be in stores next month.

Brown said this latest album, "Living Off the Land," is "not like the Dream album," his first album.

"It's more me," he said.

Brown is originally from Pella, but lived in Texas for a while, before moving back to Iowa. He explained he has been performing professionally for two years, and got a big break when radio station KJJY in Des Moines, took a chance by playing one of his songs.

According to Brown's web site, www.jasonbrowncountry.com, he has been performing since age 4.

"Even at age 4 when I sang in the church, I projected loud enough that they didn't even have to (put a microphone) me," Brown said on his web site. "My grandmother taught me from an early age to sing from the diaphragm to support my vocals and appreciate the piano."

According to his web site, Brown has performed with Gary Allan, Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Sugarland, Emerson Drive and Craig Morgan.

Brown will be touring in the Midwest, as well as in Tennessee and Arizona this summer. Brown will be performing on Tuesday, July 29 as part of the entertainment at the Cass County Fair. The fair is set for Saturday, July 26 through Friday, August 1.
