Swine Project

We all know that you can exhibit your swine project at the county fair, but did you know you can create exhibits that are an outgrowth of the swine project to enter in the building at fair too?  Here are some examples:

POSSIBLE FAIR EXHIBITS

  • Create a game about pork
  • Make a display that you can set up in the community and then use it as a project at fair
  • Research careers in the pork industry
  • Keep health care, feeding, or waste management records from your swine project

The possibilities are endless. At fair this would be an animal science exhibit and judged by the Ag & Natural Resources judge.  If you are already enrolled in the swine project you are ready to bring other exhibits like these to fair.

CITIZENSHIP IDEAS

  • Participate with the Pork Producers at grillings for community or charity events.
  • Work at the Iowa State Fair Swine Farrowing Display
