What is Discovering 4-H?
Discovering 4-H is a project offered in Cass County for all 3rd and 4th graders. The purpose of the project is to expose new 4-H members to a variety of projects and to help them learn in these project areas.

Third graders who join 4-H may only take the Discovering 4-H project. Fourth graders are also required to enroll in the Discovering 4-H project, but can also enroll in one additional project area.

Every winter, a countywide Discovering 4-H Workshop is held for 4-H members to work on several projects as well as get a head start on their record book. In addition, some 4-H clubs have Discovering 4-H leaders who meet throughout the year with these new 4-H members.

At the Cass County Fair, Discovering 4-H Exhibits are judged separately and are put in a special display. 4-H'ers may exhibit anything that falls under the 14 Discovering Project areas.

The 2009 Discovering 4-H workshop was held January 25 at the Cass County Community Center.  42 young 4-Hers participated.  To view more photos, Click Here.
