POSSIBLE FAIR EXHIBITS
- Kid Kit – bag of toys and items you can take with you on a babysitting job
- Make a homemade toy – Can you make a toy that teaches children a skill, like counting, learning their colors, or tying their show
- Create a game that you can play with children
- Make a cookbook with nutritious snacks you can make while you are babysitting
- Keep a journal to write about your babysitting experiences. What you have learned
- Make a poster showing what toys may be appropriate for children of different ages
- Make a safety plan to have with you when you are babysitting
- Make a book of outdoor and indoor games to play with children
- Write a children’s story or book
CITIZENSHIP IDEAS
- Attend Babysitting and Child Safety Course to become a better babysitter
- Volunteer in the nursery at your place of worship
- Volunteer to make toys and games with the children at a day care
- Volunteer to read to kids at the library
- Set-up free child care during parent-teacher conferences
- Coach a little kid's sports team
LEADERSHIP IDEAS
- Serve as a counselor at day camp
- Organize games or snacks at vacation bible school
- Organize an outing for a day care
- Help teach the Babysitting and Child Safety Course
COMMUNICATION IDEAS
- Read books to children at the library
- Give a presentation on caring for a baby

Fair exhibits entered in the CHILD DEVELOPMENT project will be judged by the Child Development Judge. Call the Extension Office by May 15 and ask to add CHILD DEVELOPMENT (5011-5013).
