The David Williams Master Gardener Grants are offered to honor the many years of service Master Gardener David Williams provided as a long-time volunteer, with the Master Gardener program and other community organizations, including a term as Cass County Master Gardener president in 2012. Grants may be used for food gardening, garden education, or community improvement.

Discussions about transferring family farm assets can be equally difficult. Southwest Iowa farm families are invited to learn about options that are best for your operation and family at an Estate Planning and Family Farm Transfer Workshop on February 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Armstrong Research Farm near Lewis.

  • Comprehensive information on manure management, research and application for Iowa.
