Dare to Excel Newsletters and Other Parenting Resources

Dare to Excel Newsletter Helps Parents to Help Kids Become Better Learners
When weekends, school breaks and summer are added together, kids spend many hours outside of school walls. How this time is spent affects their growth and development, as well as their success at school. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offers a monthly newsletter during the school year, September through May, to help parents help their children become better learners.
The Dare to Excel newsletter shares information about what parents can do at home or in the community that will help children succeed at school. Each newsletter will consistently feature proven parenting practices that research has shown help children become better learners. Parents will get practical suggestions on topics such as the importance of routines, good nutrition, developing life skills and more.
