Pioneer Hi-Bred Pledges $150,000 to support Iowa 4-H Programs

Des Moines, Iowa - Pioneer Hi-Bred, a DuPont business, has announced a $150,000 matching gift pledge to the Iowa 4-H Foundation to support youth programs. The contribution launches the Iowa 4-H Foundation's President's Campaign fundraising effort.

SowBridge Educational Series continues to offer distance learning flexibility and convenience. SowBridge it's third year in January 2010. This program is intended for people involved in managing or caring for boars, sows and/or their litters, including operation owners, employees, technicians, managers, and technical service providers. SowBridge is designed to improve the understanding and application of various tools and techniques involved in daily care of the breeding herd and piglets.

2009-2010 SW Iowa Area 4-H Council

The purpose of the SW Iowa Area 4-H Council (Regions 17 & 18) is to provide significant leadership development experiences for teens. Members of the Council will be involved in identifying needs, sharing ideas, and developing a plan on action to help address piority needs. In addition, the Council will assist in overall 4-H and Youth program development by serving in an advisory capacity to staff.

Static Building Project Results

Cass County 4-H Static Building Results, 4-H members participate in conference style judging on the exhibits to gain communication skills, as well as suggestions for improving their project area. Members are awarded blue, red and white ribbons based on the exhibit, as well as exhibit goals. All outstanding projects are considered state fair.
