Carroll County Connecting Children to Nature
9:00 a.m.-Noon Learning With Nature-Preschool and elementary children need consistent time outdoors with an interested, caring adult. Discuss common barriers to children's ability to create positive connections with the natural world and how to counteract those barriers. Discover engaging and paractical hands-on ideas.
1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Nature-Inspired Indoor Environments-Adults play an important role in setting up environments that can help children be successful. Be inspired to plan in indoor environment to better support healthy growth and development in preschool and elementary children. Discover ways to create more beautiful and calming spaces by decreasing visual "clutter" and adding interesting materials from the natural world.
Workshops will be held at the Swan Lake Sate Park Education Center. Certified Nature Explore insturctor, Sandra McKinnon, Extension Family Life Program Specialist, will lead the workshops.

Registaration is required by April 1st. Contact the Carroll County ISU Extension and Outreach office at 712-792-2364 or stop by 1205 W US Hwy 30, Ste. G, in Carroll. Participants may register for one or both workshops. Cost is $15 for each workshop or $25 for both. A catered lunch will also be provided by the Carroll County Extension Council for those participating in both workshops.
