You are invited to a Crop Fair.  Better Information for a more profitable operation.  The free Crop Fair is part of the Iowa Corn Crop Fair Series and will be held on March 5, 2015 at 9:00 am at the Coon Rapids Legion Hall with a complimentary breakfast and lunch sponsored by, Iowa Corn, Iowa Savings Bank, Carroll, Guthrie and Audubon County Extension & Outreach offices.  Call 712-792-2364 or email Julee Grell at juleeg@iastate.edu to pre-register.

(Carroll, Iowa) — Iowa pork producers are invited to learn more about disease preparedness and traceability, development and implementation of common industry audits, and swine health research at the 2015 Iowa Pork Regional Conferences this month. Attendees also will learn how to prepare for an audit and get swine program updates from Iowa State University Extension swine specialists. The Iowa Pork Industry Center, Iowa Pork Producers Association and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach cosponsor this annual series at different sites around the state. Conferences will be held Feb. 23-26 and follow the same schedule at all four locations with sessions held from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Conference dates and locations are as follows:

There is no cost for those who pre-register and pork operation employers, managers and staff are encouraged to attend. Walk-in registration is $5 per person, payable at the door.  At their respective locations, ISU Extension and Outreach swine program specialists will provide updates on practical audit preparation, training opportunities and programming and resources available through IPIC. They’ll also lead PQA Plus training sessions for attendees from 9:30 a.m. to noon the day of each session. Carroll County will offer the Ornamental and Turfgrass Applicators Continuing Instructional Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, March 4, 2014. The program can be seen at locations across Iowa through the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) team.

The local attendance site is at the Carroll County ISU Extension and Outreach office.  Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the course will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Please note:this is a change from previous years.  The registration fee is $35 on or before Feb. 25 and $45 after Feb. 25. To register or to obtain additional information about the CIC, contact Julee Grell at the ISU Extension and Outreach office in Carroll County at 712-792-2364.

There will be a continuing educational course for those certified in Seed Treatment on February 18th from 9:00 am to noon.  Please call 712-792-2364 to register. Fee is $35 if paid before February 11, 2015 and $45 if paid after February 11, 2015.
