Carroll County ISU Extension and Outreach is partnering with RSVP to bring you a program on how to be a savvy senior and protect your assets from scams.  This program will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017, from 10:00 a.m..-11:00 a.m.. at the Carroll County ISU Extension and Outreach Office.

Carroll County will offer the Ornamental and Turfgrass Continuing Instruction Course (CIC) for categories  3O (Ornamental Pest), 3T (Turf Pest), 3OT (Ornamental and Turf Pest), and 10 (Research and Demonstration) on Wednesday, March 1, 2017. 

The local attendance site is at the Carroll County ISU Extension and Outreach office. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the course runs from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The registration fee is $35 on or before Feb. 22 and $45 after Feb. 22. To register or to obtain additional information about the CIC, contact Julee Grell at the ISU Extension and Outreach office in Carroll County by phoning 712-792-2364.

Please apply for the summer assistant position in Carroll County on or before March 3, 2017.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach-Carroll County Office is accepting applications for a temporary, part-time Summer Assistant to assist 30-40 hours per week with various office activities from mid May - mid August.  Qualifications include a minimum of a high school diploma, knowledge of 4-H, strong communication and organizational skills, up-to-date computer and technology skills, and ability to work some evenings and some weekends.    Submit cover letter and resume or job application with references to the Carroll County Extension and Outreach Office- 1205 West US Hwy 30 Ste. G, Carroll, IA  51401 on or before March 3, 2017.  In accordance with ISU Extension’s Child Protection and Safety Policy, a background check will be competed on the selected applicant.  Carroll County Extension is an EEO/AA Employer.

The statewide average for corn/soybeans was down 6.5%, from $246 to $230/acre.
The ISU Survey does not collect rental data for individual farms.The number of responses is the number of individuals who provided information about typical rents across the county. A new question on the survey this year was the number of acres the respondent was familiar with, the sum of those acres was over 2.5 million acres across the state.
