Parents naturally are concerned for their children’s safety, particularly when there is news of attempted child abductions that happen close to home.  Finding the balance between emotions and the “teachable moment” as parents talk to their children is important, an Iowa State University Extension and Outreach specialist says.

The pre-harvest 2014 Farm Bill Program will be held on Monday, October 6, at the 4-H building on the Sac County Fairgrounds.  It will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 11:00 a.m.  Topics covered include:  2014 Farm Bill overview, "new" crop insurance programs & sign up, considerations for choosing insurance and more.  Please register by contacting the Sac County Extension office at (712) 662-7131.
