An on-line 3-week personal financial management series will be offered beginning October 1 (5:30 - 6:30 pm) or October 5 (Noon - 1:00 pm) The program will meet for one hour on Mondays and Wednesdays each month between October and December, 2009. By pre-registering $15 by the 20th of the month prior to the start date, participants will receive class materials via e-mail as well as the web address with instructions on how to log in. If you miss one class, or would like to review a session, you will receive information as to how to view the recorded class.
Week one will cover setting goals, planning for large periodical expenses, planning for loan repayment and planning for long-term security. Week two will talk about tracking spending, creating a budget, and setting yourself up to succeed. Week three will talk about managing risks, types of insurance, methods of record keeping - pick one that works for you, wise use of credit, predatory lending and managing credit.
Patricipants may participate by using a head set with a microphone to communicate with the instructor and other class members or may listen to the presentation through computer speakers and simply type questions and comments in a chat box.
