AMES, Iowa —Iowa Learning Farms and the STRIPs research group will host a prairie strips installation field day at the farm of Gary Guthrie near Nevada from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10. Featured topics include the process and cost of implementing prairie strips in cash crop fields and the benefits prairie strips have on increasing soil health and biodiversity, as well as nutrient reduction.
ORANGE CITY, Iowa -- Changes in packer requirements will affect the information cattle feeders must provide to market cattle. To help feedlot producers learn about and adapt to these changes, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Iowa Beef Industry Council and Iowa Cattlemen’s Association are co-hosting a series of meetings, “Beef Quality Assurance Certification and Assuring Cattle Care” in northwest Iowa.
Parents learn to be better parents, kids learn to resist peer pressure, and together they learn to better communicate as a family through the Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth 10-14 from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Also known as Programa de Familias Fuertes, the program is available in English and Spanish.
