Herbicide resistant weeds represent one of the most important issues facing agriculture in Iowa. The lack of diversity in weed management has resulted in widespread resistance to glyphosate in common waterhemp, giant ragweed and marestail.

The objective of this meeting is to provide information about the causes of herbicide-resistant weed populations, objectively evaluate weed management programs that are commonly recommended in Iowa, and support the design of durable weed management programs for attendees.

Individual weed management options will be discussed and assessed for adoption by growers to manage the growing herbicide-resistant weed problem. The program will be interactive and participatory.

Application has been made for Continuing education credits for Certified Crop Advisors for 3.0 CEUs in pest management.
