All beef, swine, sheep, meat goats, dairy (cattle & goat), poultry, and rabbit exhibitors MUST be certified in order to exhibit at any fair. Grades 4-6 will need to attend training; Grades 7-9 have the option to attend training or take the intermediate test: Grades 10-12 have the option to attend training or take the senior test.

Many producers are wondering what options they have under their multiple peril crop insurance policies. Beginning June 1, corn producers with unplanted acres have three choices.

Results from the most recent survey of farmland rental rates conducted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach showed that the average estimated cash rent for corn and soybean land in the state for 2013 was $270 per acre, an increase of $18 per acre or 7 percent from last year.
