: Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale - Revised (ECERS-R)

: This DHS-approved series is intended for administrators and staff of preschool-age classrooms in child care center settings. Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale training is a series of four 2-hour trainings. CCR&R will give certificates for attendance at each class. To receive ISU Extension and Outreach training credit required by center directors for Quality Rating Scale (QRS) rating point, participants must attend one full series. No make-up sessions will be offered for individual missed classes in a series. Participants will learn the characteristics of a quality child care program for preschool children and how quality can make a real difference throughout a child's life. Participants will gain skills in using the ECERS-R self-assessment tool, have a hands-on experience using the tool during a site visit, and create an improvement plan for their classroom. Register using the Iowa DHS Child Care Provider Training Registry.
