Clampitt is from Independence, Iowa, and began her term on the Buchanan County Extension Council in 2007. She has served on the Program Committee, liaison to the Fair Board, and is currently on the Personnel Committee. Clampitt is the council secretary, serves as liaison to the IACEC State Board, and was elected in 2010 as Region #9 IACEC representative. For four years she has attended Legislation Day at the Iowa State Capitol and now serves on the Extension Annual Conference Planning Committee as the IACEC representative.

Jayne has been involved with extension for over 14 years: 4-H member for six years, a 4-H leader for five years, council member for five years, and has three children that have been very active in 4-H for eight years participating in county and state activities.

There have been many changes in the past years throughout the state effecting extension and it is important that those who value extension continue to stand up to preserve it for future generations.
