Iowa 4-H builds character in young people because it gives them something to belong to. They learn new skills and have opportunities to help in their community. 4-H offers youth a safe place to have fun. Hands-on science experiments and computer programming activities help them do better in school. 4-H workforce preparation programs teach youth resume writing, interviewing techniques and other business skills.

Bremer County 4-H’er Earns Communication Project Award

Michelle Stewart of Bremer County received a state 4-H communication project award that includes a $100 savings bond from the Mary Jo and Glen Mente Endowment and the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Stewart, 18, is the daughter of Doug and Janeen Stewart of Waverly.
4-H School Enrichment

School Enrichment is a partnership between Iowa State University Extension and schools to provide, within the regular school day, a minimum of 6 hours of educational content on a subject. Curriculum materials are designed to enrich and build on national school standards and benchmarks.
