Horse Stall Initiative
Fund-raising efforts to purchase approximately 80 collapsible horse stalls for the county fair have begun. U.S. Bank made a $1,000 donation towards the Horse Stalls and the first Horse Stall was purchased. It is now on display outside the Extension Office and is being used as a can redemption site for anyone who wants to donate their cans towards buying horse stalls for the county fair.
“We hope people will come to see the stall itself. The stalls are desperately needed to ensure the safety of the animals, fair exhibitors and spectators,” said Mary Clancy, Boone County Extension program coordinator. “The public is encouraged to deposit their cans in the horse stall any time.” In addition, grant funding is being sought and individual monetary donations are being accepted to support the initiative.
13 more stalls have been purchased thanks to generous donors...Leonard A. Good Trust, Horsemen of Iowa and the former Perry Saddle Club!
