Iowans can learn how to "Preserve the Taste of Summer" during online lessons and a hands-on workshop from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in Black Hawk County. A Pickling workshop is planned for Thursday August 4th St. Paul's United Methodist Church 3:30PM and a Salsa Making and Freezing Workshop Wednesday, August 3rd at Decorah Lutheran Church 9:00AM. Beautiful Day at a breath taking setting! The Master Gardener Orchard is a partnership with the Master Gardeners of Black Hawk County and generous grants from the Community Foundation of Norhteast Iowa, the Black Hawk Gaming Association, and Green Scene. The 1 acre orchard that will serve as an excellent demonstration of the types of fruit trees that will thrive in our climate and how best to care for them. The Orchard will soon produce over 10,000 pounds of fruit each year that will be donated to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank! See more photos on FACEBOOK!

 It is a FREE Extension service.  Extension provides unbiased, research-based information and education to help Iowans make better decisions today and tomorrow.
