Iowa State University Extension will be offering a one day certification course on food safety for food service managers. ServSafe is a national certification program made available through the National Restaurant Association. ServSafe is one of the industry’s strongest educational programs. Certification is good for five years. ISU Extension will be offering Serv Safe on January 22 and March 26th. The course costs $150.00 ($100.00 for current Iowa Restaurant Association members). The registration fee includes 8 hours of training, the Serv Safe Managers manual, the exam and certification. The course will be taught by Jill Weber, ISU Extension Nutrition and Health Program Specialist. To register for the course, call 319-234-6811. Registration deadline is one week prior to the course.
ISU Extension also offers a food safety course for food service workers. Safe Food is a course that covers the topics of temperature control, sanitation, and personal hygiene. This two hour course is presented as requested. Cost is $35.00 per person.
