Cedar Valley Garden Shed Radio Show 

Waterloo - Local Master Gardener Rich Congdon has launched the "Garden Shed Radio Show" on Saturday mornings at 8 am on KCFI 1250 am. The show aims to inform listeners about lawn, flowers, vegetables, trees and shrubs. The show segments include: Featured Cedar Valley Garden of the Week; What's Going On in the Garden; Plant of the Week, Garden Tip of the Week, and a Mail Bag section.

Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who share a love of gardening, an enthusiasm for learning, and a commitment to helping others.

Richard is a life resident of Cedar Falls. For over 40 years, Rich owned and operated several businesses, most notably, the Congdon Printing Company. He grew up helping with the family vegetable garden and would sell produce from his wagon to neighbors. Rich is a 3rd generation rose grower.

After earning his Master Gardener certification from Iowa State University, Rich worked for several years at a local garden center. Rich volunteers his time in the pursuit of the Master Gardener principles. He is the secretary of the Cedar Falls LIONS club and past president of the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony. Rich volunteers at the Cedar Falls Historical Society and serves on its Garden Walk Committee.
