More than 6 million young people across the country will celebrate National 4-H Week, an annual celebration of 4-H during the first full week of October.  Black Hawk Extension will be hosting an OPEN HOUSE so the public can learn more about 4-H! Thursday, October 8th 6:00 - 8:00pm at Extension. 
• Come learn more about 4-H in our community. (Not just for families living in the country!)
• Take part in some "Hands-On Activities
• Have a Healthy Snack
• And help with "Joining 4-H!"

FoodCorps service members Grace Rathert, Bobbi Jacobs and Laura McInerney picked 1100 apples in from Timeless Prairie Orchard in Buchanan County. These apples will be used in the nutrition program they help lead at Lowell, Kittrell, Highland, Lincoln, Irving, Becker, and Cunningham. This has been a great collaboration of the Health Department, Waterloo Schools food service, and FoodCorps stationed at ISU Extension. See photos!
