The Hawkeye Farm Show is coming to the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls on March 3, 4, and 5, and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach specialists will be on-hand to provide the latest information on the 2015 weather outlook, grain market outlook, farm business succession, Iowa’s Nutrient Reduction Program and 2015 planting tips.  ISU Extension specialists will conduct daily seminars at 11 am and 1 pm, co-sponsored by the Iowa Soybean Association.  There is no charge for show admission or for parking. February 4, 2015

 From March 16-20 families will have an opportunity for hands-on fun at nine downtown Waterloo attractions – all within a one-square mile area! Discounted admission of $1/site/person is available during World's Greatest Spring Break for Kids thanks to the sponsorship of the R.J. McElroy Trust.  Discounts are available to children and adults who are accompanying children. Details about each venues offerings and hours are available at This year, John Deere Tractor & Engine Museum has joined the World’s Greatest Spring Break for Kids.  The Museum will offer $1 admission, Tuesday, March 17 – Friday, March 20.  Admission is free for children 12 and under.  The Museum will not be open on Monday, March 16.

Iowans will learn how to maximize their resources and share their extras during the 2015 Eco Family Project from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Registration is now open for the project, which begins March 19 and runs through June 11.

She will be a guest of the Black Hawk Master Gardeners, speaking to members about the importance of honeybees to Iowa agriculture and how honeybees are the connection between plants and our plates.  She will also share information about the many uses for honey, including how it can sweeten your entire home.  Gabrielle will make appearances throughout the community during her visit.
