Black Hawk County 4-H program is offering a new member night on Tuesday, October 7, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Meet current 4-Hers and participate in an Improvisation Workshop at Lamp Post Theatre, 304 Seerley Blvd. in Cedar Falls. At the workshop, new and potential members will learn how to act, perform, and prepare for a Share the Fun Fair Exhibit! Tacos will be served and the family is invited to attend. Cost is $5. Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) has been positively identified in a residential tree in the city of Waterloo, the county seat of Black Hawk County, making this the eighth location where the invasive beetle has been found in Iowa. Black Hawk County Extension and Outreach is home to two FoodCorps service members for the 2014 – 15 school year.  FoodCorps (www.foodcorps.org) is a nationwide team of leaders that connects kids to real food and helps them grow up healthy.  Programming will occur in a variety of community settings, including Waterloo and Independence Schools, Boys and Girls Club, and pre-schools.
