Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering individuals and families a garden plot to grow fruits and vegetables at the Jesse Cosby Garden, 1112 Mobile Street in Waterloo.  Planting night is planned for Wednesday, May 22, weather-permitting at 6:30 pm at this location.

For many children, the farm is a workplace, home and playground.  Teaching them how to take responsibility for their own safety on the farm is the subject of Progressive Agriculture Safety Day at La Porte Elementary School in La Porte City, Iowa.
