We are committed to provide our citizens with "Information for Everyday Living." Iowa State University Extension offers education and information to the citizens of Iowa through the following areas: Agriculture and Natural Resources, Business and Industry, Community and Economic Development, Families, and 4-H Youth Development.

• ISU Extension and Outreach in Black Hawk County has an opening in our Adult Nutrition Education Program, the Buy. Eat. Live Healthy. Program.(EFNEP)  The position is 30 hours a week and includes benefits. Preferred qualities include ability to speak Spanish. Northeast Iowa - Agricultural lenders and suppliers, producers and policymakers grow nervous when commodity prices, input costs, farmland values and lease rates become volatile says Melissa O’Rourke, Farm and Agribusiness Management Specialist for Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach. “Add in weather variables and there is plenty of excitement to manage for the 2017 farming year.”

We are very proud of our 4-Her's again this year! The Steege, Ruzicka, Zuck, Fettkether, Doepke, Nielsen, Drinovski, Scott, Keegen, Grubic, Nie, Mills, Koellings, Sage and Van Daele families donated 149 Broiler Chicks after the Black Hawk County 4-H and FFA fair to be processed and delivered to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank….
totaling 890 POUNDS of FRESH CHICKEN MEAT, a much needed protein item!
