"The Unique & Unusual" by Marvin Kucera will share his experience with heritage tomatoes and Chelsea watermelon.
"It's Legend & Lore" by Marvin Kucera will be sharing some of the old sayings that were used by our ancestors before the days of the doppler and windchill factor. Long before the days of the professional meteorologist, people used signs in nature to forecast weather.
"Containers with Pizzazz" - Carol Bruch will draw on her artistic background to explain how to create pleasing color combinations and the five principles of design: rhythm, proportion, focal point, balance and unity. This power point presentation will show examples of matching plants to their pots and creating interest in multiple plant containers using the design theory of "Thrillers, Fillers and Spillers". Ways to plant your containers, soil mixes and maintenance to achieve these stunning containers will be discussed.
Registration is due May 5, 2008. The cost is $10.00 per person general admission or an extra $20.00 (due at time of registration) for hands-on workshop (creating a stunning container planting). The workshop is limited to 25 people.
