Harvest Delayed by Wet Weather, Protect Your Crop Insurance Coverage

With harvest delaying weather, extremely wet harvest conditions and crop moisture content so high the crops cannot be harvested with normal harvest equipment, Iowa producers are now facing the December 10, 2009, End of Insurance Period (EOIP) in their crop insurance policies.

TQA - Transport Quality Assurance Training Opportunity

Swine producers, production workers and truckers will have an opportunity to receive their certification for Transport Quality Assurance (TQA) on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Montgomery Hall, Johnson County Fairgrounds in Iowa City, Iowa. All truckers transporting pigs to harvest plants, swine producers and production workers selling to certain packers will need TQA certification.

This is the most frequent time for ag related accidents on Iowa's roads. Hauling in grain during harvest can be farm operators' most dangerous job all year.
