The Iowa Alpha Mu Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi, the honor society of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, has honored four individuals as “Friends of Extension.”

A Wind and Solar Energy Conference will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at the Sioux City Convention Center, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The conference will address the growing interest in alternative energy sources that has raised many questions about wind and solar energy in northwest Iowa.

Four individuals, a radio station and a TV station were honored as 2011 Friends of Extension by the Iowa Chapter of Epsilon Sigma Phi, a national honorary extension fraternity. The awards were presented  Nov. 3 during the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach annual conference in Ames.

To provide an opportunity for Iowa business leaders, homeowners, livestock producers and environmentalists to consult on wind and solar energy, Iowa State University Extension in Plymouth County, along with other partner organizations, is presenting a Wind/Solar Energy Conference.
