Jim Harken has been hired as the director for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Region 10, covering Benton, Linn and Jones counties. He will begin the position March 1.
Iowan Bob Petrzelka recently was elected north central region president of the Council for Agricultural Research, Extension and Teaching. He has been a delegate to this national grassroots organization since 2013, representing Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is launching two new research projects in northern Iowa. One will build literacy and STEM skills in children, while the other will use singing training to improve quality of life for Iowans with Parkinson’s disease.
