Planting flowers at a local park, preparing a community meal, sharing stories with older adults or performing random acts of kindness: These are a few examples of service projects that Iowa youth will engage in during Global Youth Service Day, April 26-28.
Students celebrated Global Youth Service Day in April, but the spirit continues on in Centerville where the AmeriCorps program has teamed up with the community to work on a community garden. The project began on April 15 and will continue until Sept. 11.
