It takes work to increase young children’s interest in learning and build their language skills, but there are ways to make it fun, says Joy Rouse, an Iowa State University Extension and Outreach human sciences specialist.
One day of purple and an official month of recognition are simple ways to show support for Iowa’s military children and families whose sacrifices continue year round, say human sciences specialists with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
On April 15 all Iowans are encouraged to wear purple to show their appreciation for military children and their families. During April, the Month of the Military Child, and throughout the year Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has resources for military families.
Iowa military families also serve when a family member is deployed. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach can connect these families to support, information and resources to help them throughout the deployment cycle.
