Rodney "Butch" Baker will serve as interim director of the Iowa Pork Industry Center. He has been a senior clinician at the Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine department of Iowa State’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
Just a few days remain for golfers to register to be assured of playing in the 2012 Lauren Christian Pork Chop Open. The annual event, set for Tuesday, July 24 at Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames, benefits the Lauren L. Christian Endowment, which provides financial support for students and continued swine and pork educational opportunities through Iowa State University.
The daylong educational opportunity designed specifically for pork producers is set for June 28 on the Iowa State campus, and features practical information on a variety of topics that can be applied on the farm.
Sponsorships and golf registrations are now being accepted for the 2012 Lauren Christian Pork Chop Open. The annual event is set for Tuesday, July 24, at Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames.
The 2012 Lauren Christian Pork Chop Open will be held Tuesday, July 24 at Veenker Memorial Golf Course in Ames. The 18-hole best ball tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. and includes lunch at the golf course. Following the tournament, players and others are invited to attend a reception, meal and awards program.
For the first time in several years, the Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC) and Iowa State University (ISU) are sponsoring a daylong educational opportunity specifically for pork producers. Iowa Swine Day is set for June 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the ISU campus and features practical information on a variety of topics that can be applied on the farm.
With the registration deadline a week away, organizers of the Lauren Christian Pork Chop Open say a few team spots remain for the golf portion of the July 19 event. Anyone interested in attending the event needs to register by July 5.
