Four 4-H members have been selected to represent Iowa at the National 4-H Conference April 5-10 in Washington, D.C. The youth delegates are Raeann Hanlon, Calhoun County; Paul Elliott, Linn County; and Renae Drey and Tyler Pickhinke, Sac County.

Nineteen 4-H’ers have been selected to represent Iowa as delegates to the 2013 National 4-H Congress in Atlanta, Ga. 

The Human Sciences Extension and Outreach specialist and associate professor at Iowa State University has been selected to receive the North Central Region Excellence in Extension award.  Greder will receive the award in Washington, D.C., on Saturday, Nov. 9.

There’d be no 4-H clover without heads, hearts, hands and health. But the Iowa 4-H program itself would be hard pressed to continue without volunteers.

A six-week challenge to improve the health of Iowa families began Monday, Sept. 23 and will continue through Nov. 1.

Iowa youth put their robotics skills to the test at the 2013 Bratney Companies 4-H Robotics Challenge Aug. 10-11 at the Iowa State Fair.  

Eleven Johnson County youth involved in the 4-H Big Brothers Big Sisters program visited the National 4-H Center in Washington, D.C., in July. They participated in the National 4-H Mentoring Capstone.

Iowa State University Research and Demonstration Farms and Wallace Foundation for Rural Research and Development will host the 19th annual Crops Field Day on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 5 p.m. The event will be held at the ISU Armstrong Research Farm in Lewis, Iowa.

Twelve Iowa 4-H’ers participated in the 2013 National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational June 23-28 in Grand Island, Neb. Some 540 participants from 36 different states and 33 teams competed in the three-day event.
