The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Master Gardener program has announced 26 recipients of its Growing Together mini-grant program. The projects will receive more than $90,000 in grant money through SNAP-Education.
The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Master Gardener program has announced 22 recipients of its Growing Together mini-grant program. This is the fourth year mini-grant funds have been available, with more than $50,000 in grant money from the SNAP-Education program being distributed across the state.
Master Gardener volunteers with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach continue to improve the lives and communities of Iowans. Twenty-two counties across the state received Growing Together Mini-Grants in 2019, which resulted in about 115,000 pounds of produce being donated to nearby pantries.
Twenty-nine county projects will receive Growing Together Mini-Grants through Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’s SNAP-Education. The gardening projects are intended to increase food security and food access across Iowa.
