Many Iowans eventually will be providing some level of care for an elderly parent or relative. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is piloting “Finances of Caregiving,” a program to help Iowans protect their own long-term financial security as they plan for taking on a caregiving role.

Without power of attorney, no one can legally speak for that person and carry out his or her wishes. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offers “The Finances of Caregiving” to help families with power of attorney and other issues related to providing care for a loved one.

That’s why Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering “Remote Work: How to Get Started.” Beginning in August, Iowans can attend a free virtual meeting to learn about education, training and support opportunities for remote employment.
