JUNIOR 4-H MEMBER WORKSHOP HELD

Audubon County Clover Commissions held a junior member workshop for junior 4-H members on Saturday, March 29 at the Extension Office. Eight members participated in a morning of hands on activities. Sandy Irlmeier, co-leader of Sharon Shamrocks and Dean Hansen, co-leader of Lincoln Producers, led participants in “get acquainted” games.

Amber Irlmeier, member of the Sharon Shamrocks 4-H Club and daughter of Sandy and Ken Irlmeier of Kimballton, recently participated in the Southwest Iowa Area Recognition event, interviewing for State 4-H Council and National 4-H Conference. State 4-H Council members are ambassadors for the entire 4-H program.

Every June, over 1000 teenagers converge on the campus of Iowa State University for 3 days full of speakers, workshops, mixers, dances, a banquet, and community service activities. If you've completed 8th grade, you're eligible to attend.

SW Iowa 4-H Junior Camp

Area 4-H Junior camp is open to all Southwest Iowa youth who have completed grades 5 and 6 and will be held in Birch Village ( a village at the 4-H Camp Center in Madrid) The camp will be filled at 100 youth, so you will want to register early before it fills up. 4-H camps are open to all youth, membership in a 4-H club is not required. So bring a friend and share the experience!
