The ISU Extension and Outreach Office in Audubon County will be closed on Wednesday, November 25 and Thursday, November 26 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Changes in health insurance raise many questions for consumers.  Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering a FREE online workshop on Tuesday December 1 from 6 – 8 PM.  The Smart Choice Health Insurance Education program is research-based, non-political and non-commercial, and  will equip consumers with tools they need to make the best possible decision when choosing health insurance plans for themselves and their families.  The workshop has helped thousands of consumers build knowledge, skill and confidence for these important decisions.

 Farmers are reminded to wait until soil temperatures remain below 50 degrees Fahrenheit before applying anhydrous ammonia (NH3) fertilizer this fall. Harvest is progressing rapidly in many parts of the state and officials with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach said that waiting can help reduce nitrogen loss and better protects the environment.
