Several factors affect the choice of corn seeding depth. Although many areas have received late winter precipitation, dry soil is still a concern in areas where tillage allows significant surface drying or precipitation has not occurred. Corn Seeding Depth: Back to the Basics, a recent ICM News article, discusses how to select appropriate seed depth. This article focuses on planter adjustment settings and considerations if seed is planted deeper than normal due to dry conditions in the upper two inches at the surface.

The Cooking Club for Kids will meet every Tuesday in Mrs. Richardson’s Home Ec Room at the Audubon High School from 3:40 – 5:15 pm starting March 19th.  Pre-registration is required.  Space is limited to the first 15.  Cost of the program is $20.  (The fees for service will be used to offset direct expenses).  Registration materials are available at the Audubon County Extension Office and later in this article. The deadline to register is is March 7th.

Audubon County Clover Kids met Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church. Twenty - nine members were present.  The theme for the afternoon was “Health”.

The Audubon County 4-H Program is asking for your help. For every 1,000 UPC labels collected, the 4-H program will receive $30. Simply cut the UPC label from any Best Choice product, drop them off at the drop of box at Audubon Foods or bring to the Exten
