The Food Bank of Iowa’s Mobile Food Pantry will make a stop in Audubon County on Thursday, July 24  at the Exira Rec Center.

A mobile food pantry is a “farmer’s market” style distribution targeted toward counties with a strong need for additional pantry service. The Food Bank of Iowa delivers a truckload with a variety of grocery products to a mobile pantry site to distribute to clients in need.

An outdoor cooking contest designed to promote Iowa meat is being planned by the Audubon County Farm Bureau and ISU Extension and Outreach Audubon County.  You don’t have to be an expert chef to participate; you just need to enjoy cooking outdoors with quality Iowa meat.

Take a bucket of junk home with you! The Audubon County Fair will  once again hold a Bucket of Junk Contest. “With the popularity of the event, we increased the number of buckets available” commented Tonya Vetter, Audubon County Extension and Outreach Program Coordinator. On July 1, 15 buckets of junk will be ready for pick up at the Extension Office.

Buying a home is one of the most complicated financial transactions that most Americans will undertake. To help consumers get ready to buy a home, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach offers “A Place of Your Own,” an online home ownership course.

  • Reports of recent and historical trends in the local retail trade sector by city.

  • Nonprofit Management Academies enhance the management skills of those serving nonprofit sector.

  • Helping the College of Engineering and Iowa State University Extension and Outreach carry out their land-grant university mission to improve the quality of life in Iowa by enhancing the performance of Iowa industry.

  • The CVC facilitates networking among small and medium size rural communities, sponsors policy analyses, engages communities in dialogue, and fosters discussion among rural and urban interests.

  • Data on each county in Iowa including population demographics, education, retail sales, personal income, employment, occupation, housing, and family characteristics.

  • Provides opportunities for youth to develop skills they can use now and throughout their life, empowering them to reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults.
