Eleven Iowa 4-H’ers are partnering with 4-H professionals and representatives from agricultural industry and land-grant universities to teach others about agricultural science and innovation. Lyon and O’Brien County 4-H youth joined teams of youth and adults from 13 states at the National Youth Agri-Science Summit.

Amy Powell was recently hired to help develop an online curriculum to teach youth in 4-H about raising livestock. The new Extension and Outreach position of 4-H livestock specialist will work with Department of Animal Science professors to ensure the information is scientifically sound.

The pre-dinner event introduced ISU Foundation Order of the Knoll members and guests to STEM research and educational activities conducted by 4-H Youth Development, ISU Extension and Outreach's youth program.
