Each year, hundreds of eager campers, ages 6 to 17, attend camp at the Iowa 4-H Center. From day and overnight camps, leadership development and extreme adventure getaways, to camps for the whole family, there’s a camp designed for every child’s needs and interests.
Sue and Harold Peyton of Sac County have established the Peyton Family Scholarship through the Iowa 4-H Foundation. The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to an Iowa State University student in a major related to agriculture who will be a sophomore, junior or senior in fall 2012.
Cass, Decatur and Taylor counties have added their 4-H history to Iowa 4-H History by County, a blog detailing the history of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach 4-H Youth Development. The history blog is a partnership of the Iowa 4-H program and the Iowa 4-H Foundation.
Iowans can make a positive impact for Iowa’s youth by attending the Iowa 4-H Foundation’s 3rd Annual Gala on Feb. 25, 2012, at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown. Registration is now open.
By donating grain, farmers can support Iowa’s number one crop, youth, say officials with the Iowa 4-H Foundation. Donations to the Iowa 4-H Foundation can be designated to county 4-H endowments, for statewide use or for both purposes.
Twenty-one 4-H’ers have been selected to represent Iowa as delegates for the National 4-H Congress entitled “Become a Catalyst of Change,” in Atlanta, Ga., Nov. 25 -29. Delegates hail from Adair, Clay, Fayette, Fremont, Hamilton, Harrison, Johnson, Lee, Lucas, Madison, O'Brien, Tama, Washington, Woodbury and Worth counties.

The Iowa Soybean Association pledges $148,000 over the next four years to the Iowa 4-H Foundation. The contribution will be used to develop a cross-country adventure race at the Iowa 4-H Center near Madrid.
