The Dubuque County Senior Dairy Quiz Bowl Team placed first in the annual 4-H Youth Dairy Quiz Bowl June 6. The team will represent Iowa 4-H at the National 4-H Dairy Quiz Bowl in Louisville, Ky., in November.

The Iowa State 4-H Tech Team and some Tenacious Turtles are part of a new breed of Olympians – those who choose cyber defense, game design and robotics as their competitive venues. The two Iowa 4-H teams were among teens from across the state who recently competed in the IT-Olympics at Iowa State University.

Each summer, campers from all over the state visit the Iowa 4-H Center for a week of camp fun. This year, youth enrolled in two camps, Everything Camp and Counselors in Training Camp, will have the opportunity to participate in a research study conducted by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach targeted toward lowering childhood obesity in the state.

Every June, more than 1,000 teenagers converge on the Iowa State University campus for three days full of speakers, workshops, mixers, dances, a banquet and community service activities. The 2012 Iowa 4-H Youth Conference is June 26-28.
