Eighteen Iowa 4-H’ers have been selected to represent Iowa as delegates to the 2015 National 4-H Congress Nov. 27 through Dec. 1 in Atlanta, Ga. The theme for this 94th year of National 4-H Congress is “Excite, Spark, Ignite.”

Every fall Iowa State University Extension and Outreach county offices across the state collect 4-H youth registration numbers to gauge the impact of 4-H Youth Development programs on Iowa’s 510,000 school-age youth. Initial numbers indicate the Iowa 4-H Program continues to provide quality youth development to about 1 in 5 Iowa young people.

4-H teams from Benton, Muscatine, Scott and Washington counties will represent Iowa in upcoming national 4-H livestock and meats judging contests. The teams earned the right to represent Iowa 4-H after receiving top honors in the 2015 4-H/FFA State Livestock and Meats Judging Contests.

A record breaking 125 Iowa 4-H volunteers from 91 counties were inducted into the 2015 Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame on Aug. 23 at the Iowa State Fair.
